Lindy Brady

Lindy Brady 83, of 360 North Middleton Street, died Friday October 29, 2010 at his home.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 1, 2010 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with the Reverend James Stalnaker and Reverend Michael J. Fulp, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Brady was a native of Moore County and the son of the late Rassie and Allie Davis Brady. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Merchant Marines. He retired from Purdue Farms and later worked at Little River Golf Club. He was an avid golfer. His sister, Carol True and brothers, Graham, Edward, Harrison, Warren, R.B. Jr., and Marvin preceded him in death.
Mr. Brady is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia Purvis Brady, daughter, Vickie Valand and husband Smitty of Wilmington, brothers, Earlie Brady and wife Kathrine of Robbins, Charlie Brady and wife Reba of Trinity, grandchildren Allison Bennett and husband Daniel and Blake Valand.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM, Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
