Linton Howard Kidd

Linton Howard Kidd, 79 died Sunday, July 13, 2014 at his home.

 

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at High Falls United Methodist Church with the Reverend Tony Baurichter and Reverend  Dr. John Williamson officiating.

 

Linton was a native of Moore County and a graduate of High Falls High School.  He worked in the textile industry for over 40 years.   He loved baseball, playing American Legion for Siler City and was a pitcher for the 1948 Moore County Championship Team  Linton enjoyed short track racing and was the Rookie of the Year in 1961 at the Rockingham Speedway.  He also loved to play golf and enjoyed being outdoors. He loved his family and spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

 

Linton was a son of the late Marcus Henry and Lois Garner Kidd and was preceded in death by sons: Gary and Jerry Kidd,  sister: Helen J. Kidd and grandson, Jamie Kidd.

 

Linton is survived by sons: Terry Kidd and wife Teresa, David Kidd and fiance, Evon Caviness, Tommy Kidd and wife, Misty; daughters: Karen Watson and husband Benny, Sharon Hill and husband Tony,  brother: Bobby Kidd and wife Mary Lou, Special Friend, Vicki Walters, 14 grandchildren ,  9 great-grandchildren.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
