Lloyd Lee Burns 75, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, September 23, 2016

at his home.

 

Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM, Monday, September 26,  2016 at Smyrna United Methodist Church, with the Reverend David Woodhouse officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 PM and at other times at the home of Michael and Flora Maness.  

 

The body will lie in state from 3:00 to 5:00 PM,  Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Kennedy Funeral Home.

 

Lloyd was a native of Moore County. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend to all. He never met a stranger and was always ready to share a word, a smile or a laugh. Lloyd loved the Lord and had a caring spirit.  He owned and operated Burns Plumbing and Heating for many years.  He could fix or repair almost anything. He studied all kinds of machinery and was a “rigger”, that could see all the moving parts.  He enjoyed restoring old cars, especially the “57” Chevy and tractors. He was a son of the late Melvin Arthur and Nora Lee Maness Burns and was preceded in death by brother, Billy Burns.

 

Lloyd is survived by wife: Aileen  Hussey Burns, of the home, sisters: Hilda Purvis, Jackie Seawell and husband Floyd, Brenda Hussey and husband Johnny; sister in law: Judy Burns; many nieces, nephews and friends.
