Lula Mae Denny Hendrick, age 87 of Carthage died Friday (December 29, 2017) at Parkview Retirement Village in Sanford.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday (December 31, 2017) at Cameron Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jared McNeill and Dr. Wayne Greene. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

A native of Moore County she was a daughter of the late Dock Martin Denny and Maggie Etta Allen Denny. Lula was a homemaker for most of her life but later worked in food service for Moore County Schools. She was a lifelong member of Cameron Baptist Church.

Lula was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hartsell Hendrick; son Marty Hartsell Hendrick; brothers Allen Denny, Clarence Denny, Ervin Denny and Woodrow Denny; sisters Ellen Wicker, Edith Luther and Maude Snyder.

She is survived by her children Dr. Pamela Jessup and husband James of Sanford; Denny Hendrick and wife Julie of Seven Lakes, Lisa Dunlap and husband James of Robbins; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Parkview Retirement Center for the wonderful care that provided for their mother.
