Mabel Barber Moore, 81, of 1075 Maryland Avenue, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Zeb Moss. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Born November 7, 1926, in Moore County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Braxton and Mittie Frye Barber and the wife of Robert E. Moore, Sr. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Carthage, NC and attended Zion Hill Baptist Church in Spartanburg. Mable loved all of her family and enjoyed gardening. She was predeceased by a son, Robert "Bob" E. Moore, Jr.; a brother, James Barber; and a sister, Margaret White.
In addition to her husband she is survived by: a son, Kenny and wife Susan Bridges Moore of Spartanburg; two sisters, Eva Dowd and Betty Brown, both of Pinehurst, NC; three grandsons, Daniel and Jason Moore of Spartanburg, David Moore of Charlotte, NC; and two granddaughters, Kathy and Carolyn Moore of Spartanburg.
