Magdalene Cameron

Magadelene Bass Cameron, 97, completed her earthly life on Saturday January 24, 2009. At the time of her death she was a resident at the Presbyterian Home of High Point. She was born June 12, 1911 the third of six children of John William Bass and Catherine Louise Cameron Bass.
Services celebrating her life were held Tuesday at Cypress Presbyterian Church with internment in the church cemetery
Magdalene married Martin H. Cameron in 1934 and they spent the majority of their married life on their farm in Moore County where they reared their five children. She was active through the years in Cypress Presbyterian Church in all areas of church life and service. She received honorary life membership with the Presbyterian Women. She was known for her over fifty quilts for the church Harvest sales.
In addition to her parents, Magadelene was preceded in death by her husband Martin H. Cameron and her brothers Roland, Barney, Marvin, Herman and Bruce Bass.
Survivors include her daughter Mary C. McNeal and husband Russ, sons Charles D. Cameron and wife Pat, James M. Cameron and wife Sally, Leon E. Cameron and wife Evelyn and Neill W. Cameron and wife Donna. Her six grandchildren include Doug Cameron (Wife Kim) Amy Hand ( Husband David ) John Martin Cameron , Shannon Todd ( husband Shawn ), Phyllis A. Cameron, Deborah C. Courtney ( husband Mark ), in addition, five great grandchildren Ella Cameron, Tucker and Cooper Hand, Laura and Allison Courtney.
