Margaret Christian Monroe , 87 died peacefully, Thursday, December 4, 2014 at her residence.

 

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Bensalem Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, with the Reverend Mark Carver officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 - 2:45 PM prior to the service.

 

Margaret was a native of Moore County. She graduated from St. Leo’s Hospital, School of Nursing.  She was a nurse in the Cadet Corps. Margaret served the community for 45 years at Randolph Hospital as a nurse, Staff nurse, Director of Nursing and Risk Manager/Administration. She loved her family and her church. She held many positions at the church including Sunday School teacher, Deacon, Elder and Clerk of Session. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.

 

Margaret was a daughter of the late Carl A. and Minnie Seawell Monroe . She was preceded in death by her brothers: Charles O. Monroe, Carl A. Monroe, Jr., John Monroe, sisters: Helen Lomax, Odessa M. Vicks, Nancy Monroe.

 

Margaret is survived by brothers: Roland Monroe and wife Ada, of Seagrove; Edwin Monroe and wife Virginia, of Eagle Springs; and many nieces and nephews.  

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bensalem Presbyterian Church, P O Box 157, Eagle Springs, NC 27242, FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC or National Parkinson Foundation Gift Processing Center,PO Box 5018 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018 .
