Margaret H. Wallace (Peg), 68, of Whispering Pines, NC passed away peacefully on February 15, 2015. Throughout her life, she never let anything get her down and always had a positive outlook. Peg had a warm heart and a loving spirit. She will be forever missed.
Peg was born on May 9, 1946, in Richmond, VA, and grew up in Alexandria, VA. She worked in various administrative capacities for several large corporations; most recently Global Commerce Systems, Inc. Peg was a skilled amateur photographer of birds and loved all animals. She was an avid reader and loved to cook.
Peg was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James H. Haley.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Jim of Whispering Pines; daughters: Jennifer and husband Christian Spies of Austin, TX, Theresa and husband Marty Rinehart of Charles Town, WV; grandchildren: Chuck, Derek, Christa, and Abigail; as well as many, many loving friends and extended family.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 17 th at the Powell Funeral Home and Crematory of Southern Pines, 160 E New Hampshire Ave, Southern Pines, NC 28387.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the FirstHealth Hospice Foundation, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374, or the Audubon North Carolina, 400 Silver Cedar Court, Suite 240, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
The Powell Funeral Home and Crematory of Southern Pines are assisting the Wallace family.
