It was with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Samples Buie who passed away peacefully at her home on March 25, 2026.

A native of Moore County, Margaret was the daughter of the late William and Frances Samples.  Her life was defined by her profound faith and her devotion to serving the Lord Jesus Christ while sharing His love with everyone she met.

Margaret was known for her strong work ethic and her compassionate service to others.  As a certified CNA, she dedicated her life to caring for others.  Margaret served in several church communities by providing childcare for mothers in church fellowship.  Her passion was rescuing cats and placing them in loving homes.  Margaret loved her cats, especially Jade, Momma Cat, Muffin, Cici and Zeus.

The family extends a special “Thank you” to her son, Justin, her sister, Nancy and the Gentiva nurses, Lisa and Liz, who supported her throughout her illness.

The family has planned a private service for a later time.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to the Outreach Program at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, P. O. Box 386 Southern Pines, North Carolina 28388.

She wanted to spread her love for Jesus to others ! I will always have special place in my heart for her. To her wonderful family she is running the streets of gold and singing and praising the Lord ! I am sure she is bragging on each of you! Our Loss is heavens Gain until we meet again my sweet friend!

  6. Margaret had a smile that could light a room. Her personality was always so positive and always had a good time just setting and talking about anything. She told me many times how much she loved her church and loved her church family and friends and her family. Margaret loved M&M’s and would love it when a bag would get snuck to her can hear her now “will have to hide these from brother and sisters” . Margaret will be missed but never forgotten her smile, heart , and love for Jesus will always be remembered! I can hear her now singing praises to Jesus and running the streets of Gold in Heaven.
My deepest sympathies to her family. May God give you the peace and comfort you need during this time.
