Martha Billings Frye

Martha B. Frye, age 83 formerly of Lexington, NC died Tuesday (March 8, 2011) at the home of her son and daughter in law in Salisbury, MD.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Sammy Frye. Burial will follow in Cross Hill Cemetery.
A native of Bluefield, WV she was daughter of the late Calvin William Billings and Ethel Maude Pauley Billings. She retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Baltimore, MD and then moved to North Carolina with her husband the late Delaney R. Frye who died in 2009. Together they settled in Lexington and enjoyed their years together. She was a devout Christian, loved her family and was a great neighbor and friend.
She is survived by: a daughter Barbara Newbern and husband Bill of Jacksonville, FL; sons Michael Hamblin and wife Sandy of Baltimore, MD, Edward Hamblin and wife Wendy of Salisbury, MD; sisters Evelyn Yates, Jean Conley; brothers Norman Billings and Douglas Billings; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home on Saturday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Jill Bedsworth and Ruth Barfield the ones who sat with and cared for Martha, and to Ann Lovely her hospice nurse whom Martha grew to love.
