Mary Lois Scott Davis, 86, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021  at Peak Resources Pinelake, surrounded by her family.

 

Lois was a native of Moore County and a graduate of Westmoore High School. She worked in the textile industry until her retirement.  Lois was also a homemaker, she loved caring for her home and family.  The family remembers her baking wonderful deserts of all kinds. She liked to crochet and listen to gospel music. Lois enjoyed traveling, especially camping with her husband of 62 years, James, they liked meeting new people as they traveled.  She also enjoyed just sitting on the front porch of her home sharing good conversation. Lois was a daughter of the late Herbert and Cladie Moore Scott and was preceded in death by her husband, James Cranford Davis; siblings: Louvene Garner, Gurney Scott, Grier Scott. 

 

Lois is survived by sons: Terry Davis and wife Amanda, Mike Davis and wife Janet; grandchildren: Joshua Davis, Kimberly Atkinson, Paul Atkinson and wife, Misty, Dwight Atkinson and wife Amanda, Lea Allen; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 1, 2021  at Needhams Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, where she was a member, with Pastor D J Harry and the Reverend Arnold Comer officiating. 

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Kennedy Funeral Home.

    I will always remember your gravy&biscuits and chocolate pound cake. You even surprised me and brought them to me in the hospital after I had my first child! You were always like a grandma to me and my siblings. We love you always and forever.

  5. I am so sad to learn of the passing of one of my “dear Senior Saints”. I enjoyed being with her at many of our events. Growing up As a young girl, I can remember how sweet and pleasant she always was to me and she was a special lady in our community. She will be missed. God’s blessings on the family!

    I worked with your Mom at Clayson Knitting for many years. My time spent with her on the beltline #9 was a joyful time, always joking and having fun while making money. The days did not even seem like work. A very sweet lady. She will be missed by all who knew her. RIP my friend!

  8. OUR HEART WAS BROKEN WHEN WE RECEIVED THE NEWS OF LOIS PASSING. SHE WAS A WOUNDERFUL LADY AND WHAT GOOD TIMES WE HAD WHEN WE ALL WENT CAMPING. TERRY AND AMANADA YOU ARE FRIENDS FOREVER, WE LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH. MAY GOD BLESS.
