Mrs. Mary McLean Goldston, age 86 of Carthage passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

 

Funeral service will be 12:00 PM Saturday at Carthage Elementary School Auditorium. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church cemetery.

 

Born in Carthage, NC she was the last surviving child of William Ralph and Sadie Cornelia (Taylor) McLean. Mary worked in Textiles for several years and also worked for Kelly and Marion families in Carthage.

 

She was preceded in death by her daughter Doris G. Simmons as well as her siblings.

 

She is survived by her two daughters Sadie Diane McLauchlin and husband Henry of Killeen, TX and Debbie Thomas and husband Chris of Foxfire Village; grandchildren Daryl McLauchlin, Larry Scott Patterson, Nick Pratt, Danny Harris, Belinda Clark; eight great-grandchildren.

  5. I did not have the pleasure of getting to know Mrs. Goldston but I know and love her children and several of her grandchildren. I know by the way she
    raised them she had to be a wonderful, Godly lady. Her legacy will continue living through her fami
