Mary Lou Starr, age 67 of Wadsworth Road, died Tuesday at her home after an extended illness
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday (6/1/2012) at Priest Hill Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Archie Stevens and the Rev. Carl Matthews. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County she was the daughter of the late Glenn Wadsworth and Annie Leslie Wadsworth. She was the owner and operator of Agnes Dorothy Beauty Shop in Southern Pines for 45 years and operated a beauty shop at Belle Meade for ten years until her health declined. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Starr; a grandson, Phillip Bullins; two brothers, Johnny Wadsworth and O. C. Leslie.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam Starr Inman & husband, Steve of Carthage; a grandson, Michael Bullins of Carthage; a very special friend, Lester Smith of Carthage and god-daughter, Jo Ann Dismukes of Florida; sisters, Lynne Wadsworth and Shirley Allen both of Carthage and Mitzi McKenzie & husband, Art of West End; brothers, R. G. Wadsworth of Carthage, Mark Wadsworth of Union Mills, and Phillip W Wadsworth of Pleasant Garden; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Fry & Prickett Funeral home on Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM. Memorials may be made to First Health Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374 or the USO RDU International Location, PO Box 91443, Raleigh, NC 27675..

Mary Lou will be missed by all of her friends. I came back to the area 12 years ago, and worked at St. Joseph (Belle Meade). She recognized me since she knew my Mother many years ago. I am so glad that I got to know her upon my return.
