Mary Ruth Purvis Williams, age 80 died Sunday at Pinehurst Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church conducted by Rev. John Williamson and Rev. Robert L. Kidd. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 6:30 " 8:00 PM.
A native of Moore County she was a daughter of the late Felton and Annie F. Purvis. Her husband James Roland Williams who died in 1996 preceded her in death. She worked on the farm and in textiles. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Acorn Ridge Baptist Church.
She is survived by: sons Jerry Williams and wife Sandra of Robbins; Pastor Dwight Williams and wife Peggy of New Bern; sisters Juanita Kidd and husband Robert of Robbins, Mamie Murray and husband Robert of Bennett; three grandchildren Rachel Tucker and husband Robert, John Williams and wife Tiffany, Stephen Williams and wife Heather; and four great-grandchildren Madison and Aidan Williams, Jack and Ethan Tucker.
