Maxine Brown Vest, age 82 died Sunday (February 2, 2014) at Peak Resource- Pinelake in Carthage.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Donnie Gillis and the Rev. Brad Marona. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 and following the service there will be a reception in the church fellowship hall.
A native of Moore County she was a daughter of the late Hugh Thomas and Ocia Cockman Brown. Maxine retired from Stanley Furniture in West End. She always enjoyed flower gardening, reading and a good cup of coffee.
She was preceded in death by: her husband Charles Vest; daughter Dinah Cain and son Don Vest.
She is survived by: her daughter Linda V. Caddell and husband Marshall of West End; sons Terry Vest of West End, Andy Vest and wife Diane of West End; sisters Josephine Crabtree of Granger, IN; Lois Priest of Carthage brothers Argene Brown of Carthage, Monroe Brown of Carthage and Tracy Brown of Carthage; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
