Sarah May Kennedy 84, died Monday, March 7, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family.

 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday,March 10, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church, Plank Road, Robbins, with Dr. Bill Cooper and Reverend Eldon Hinedgardner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall and at other times at the home.

 

May was a native of Moore County. She faithfully served the Lord and her church. She loved and cared for others by visiting those that were sick or homebound. May was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a hairdresser since the 60”s and loved all the folks who came to her shop. May enjoyed traveling to faraway places, but especially to the beach and river, where she rode the jet ski with her dog “Rosie”.  She was a daughter of the the late Walter Branson and Gladys Dowdy Brown and was preceded in death by grandson: Todd Wesley Horner;  siblings: Julian, Mazie, Roy, Waye and Fred.

 

May is survived by her husband, of 47 years, Curtis Kennedy; sons: Wesley Horner  and wife Betty, Anthony Kennedy; daughters: Marsha Phillips and husband Wayne, Ellen Rogers and husband Randy, Melanie Barrientos; grandchildren: Wendy, Susie, Renee’, Carlotta, Robin, Judith, Catherine, Shane, Stacy, Lee, Brian, Daniel, Brittany, Seth;  25 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren.
