Meriel C. Deaton, 84, of 475 Simmons Road, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Pine Lake Nursing Facility in Carthage.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 30, 2011 at First Wesleyan Church Robbins with Reverend Sam Swinney and Reverend Wilson Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Deaton was the owner and operator of Deaton Mobile Homes and Sunset Drive Mobile Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gurney and Florence Williams Deaton.
Meriel is survived by his wife, Kathleen, of the home, daughter: Ann Marie Mussellwhite, of Seagrove; step-daughter: Judith Johnson, of Sanford; son: Darius Deaton, of Seagrove; step-sons: Lee Marsh, Johnny Marsh and Richard Marsh all of Cameron; sister: Carol Saunders, of Seagrove; brother: Jim Deaton, of West End; 3 grandchildren and 13 step-grandchildren
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, July 29, 2011 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
