Mrs. Mildred E. Oliva, age 95 of Pinehurst died Monday (February 5, 2007) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Chapel services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home and Memorial Park, in Clearwater Florida.
She was born January 7, 1912 to the late John and Josephine Massa in Manhatten, NY. She was a gymnastic dancer, loved to play Bingo, knit, crochet, needlepoint and ceramics. She retired from Sonetone Hearing Aid Corporation in 1974 and moved to Largp, FL where she resided for eighteen years. She then moved to Pleasantville, NY to reside with her son Dennis and family. She relocated to Moore County where she resided with her daughter and family for a year prior to moving to Carolina House in Pinehurst.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Americo Dante Oliva, and three brothers.
She is survived by a daughter Eileen Anne Spatz and husband Ralph of Whispering Pines, NC; a son Dennis Roger Oliva of Westchester, NY; grandchildren Pamela, Debbie and Richard Spatz of Florida, Roger Spatz of Cincinnatti, Ohio and Ralph Spatz, Jr of Carthage, NC, Renee Scapperatti, Shari Brand, Jamie Coleman, Kimberly and Denise Oliva all of New York; great-grandchildren: Anthony and Miranda Scapperatti, Elixis, Madison and Jason Brand, and Eric Coleman all of New York, Randy, Dawn, Jerry, Harley, Adreama, Joseph, Kayla, and Lois Spatz of Florida, Riley and Kelli Spatz of Cincinnati, Ohio; great-great-grandchild Mikayla Spatz of Florida
