Mildred B. Speight 94, formerly of Whispering Pines, died Monday March 30, 2015 at Independence Village of Olde Raleigh, Raleigh, NC..
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Culdee Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Dr. Joseph Washburn.
Mildred worked for Durham Life Insurance Company, in Raleigh for many years. She loved gardening especially growing beautiful flowers. Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Family was always most important to her and she loved anytime spent with them Her granddaughter and the great grandchildren brought her great joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Speight and three siblings.
Mildred is survived by daughter: Carolyn Creech of Cary; granddaughter: Sherry Cantley and husband Jack, of South Hill, Va.; great grandchildren: Peyton and Emily Lester and Zackery Cantley.
