Mildred Faye Williams Baxter, age 87, died Friday, July 9, 2021, at her home.

 

A native of Moore County, she was a daughter of the late Claude W. and Lessie McKenzie Williams.

 

Mildred retired from Lucks Inc. in Seagrove.   She was a devoted mother and grandmother, who cared deeply for all her family.  She was a faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James A. Baxter, infant brother: Q. A. Williams, son: Dale Baxter; grandchildren: Dana Baxter, Kevin Baxter, Keith Baxter; great grandchild:  Braiden A. Wright; sister and brother in law: Johnsie W. and Paul O. Johnson; sisters in law: Louise B. Williams, Carol L. Williams; brother in law: Gurney Green.

 

Mildred is survived by sons: Larry Baxter and wife Betty, of Whiteville, NC, Randy Baxter and wife Heidi, of Robbins; grandchildren: Krysti B. Wright and husband Brandon, of Alvarado, TX, Montana B. Hinson and husband Christopher, of Whiteville, Conner D. Baxter, of Whiteville, Phillip D. Baxter, of Robbins: great grandchildren: Blaine, Brody, Byer and Kynlie Wright, of Alvarado, TX, Caden D. Baxter, of Whiteville; brothers:  Billy Williams and wife Maybelle, Earl Williams, S. Wayne Williams, Glen Williams and wife Janice, Clyde Williams; sisters: Pearl Shepard and husband Ronald, Doris Brewer and husband Wilmer, Helen W. Green; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Graveside service will be 4:00 PM, Monday July 12, 2021 at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Hubert McLeod and Reverend Wilmer Brewer officiating.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Kennedy Funeral Home.

 

Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, ℅ James Myrick, 488 Browers Mill Road, Star, NC 27356.
