March 3, 1938 ~ July 19, 2020
Modie Lee Edward “Clifford” Chriscoe, 82, of Robbins, NC passed away July 19, 2020.
Son of the late Clarence and Blanche Chriscoe, he was married to loving wife Chloe Wallace Chriscoe for 66 years. Together they had five children, Sharon Moore (Marty) of Robbins, Gwen Dodson (Ernie) of Hillsborough, the late Eddie Chriscoe (Lisa) of Robbins, Marty Chriscoe (David) of Wilmington and Jenny Purvis (Jerry Jr) of Highfalls.
They shared nine grandchildren; Matthew Moore, Hayley Chriscoe Martin, Zachary Dodson, Lizzie Moore Garner, Isaac Dodson, Norman Purvis, Eli Purvis, Mallie Clara Purvis and Zeb Purvis-as well as nine great-grandchildren; Qua-Mek McCrimmon, Khalil McCrimmon, Emma Sage McCrimmon, Myla Moore, Reese Martin, Tallie Grace Garner, Roman Martin, Theodore Garner and Clara Harper Dodson.
Clifford was always very proud of his family and enjoyed sitting on the porch swing and talking to family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and rabbit hunting in his retirement. He loved to hear the dogs run and would jump out of bed early on hunting mornings.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 23rd, at 11:00 am at the family cemetery on Rushwood Road past the residence. Due to COVID no visitation is planned.
The family is grateful for the wonderful care provided by the staff from FirstHealth Rehab and Home Care.
He always said if he won the lottery he would give a bunch to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, so in lieu of flowers please donate at stjude.org.
Kennedy Funeral Home is assisting the Chriscoe family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Clifford and my dad Steve Dunlap were very good friends for many years. I remember as a little girl, Clifford would visit daddy and he would always bring me a zagnut candy bar. He always had a smile on his face and was kind to everyone. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Please know you and your family are in my prayers, and I pray that god will help you all through this difficult time.
My love to you all…
