Nancy Paschal Bowman of Glendon, NC  born on January 23, 1944, died Friday August 28, 2015.

Nancy was the daughter of the late J. Carr Paschal and Mackie Paschal.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. "Bill" Bowman.  She is survived by sons, William "Jay" Bowman of Glendon, John Bowman & wife, Krystle of Carthage, daughter, Catherine Carpenter & husband, Kip of Bumpass, VA and step-daughter Lee Ann Bowman of Knoxville, TN; sister, Martha Paschal McNeil & husband, Lee of Carthage; six grandchildren, Thomas, Julian and Daniel Bowman, Lauren & Matthew McCrimmon and Samuel Carpenter; a cousin and good friend Gretchen W. Monroe & husband, Dale of Moorehead City; close friend John T. Rohach of Hartwell, GA who for many years has been referred to as "our third son".

Nancy loved the Lord and was an active member of Fair Promise United Methodist Church.  For the last 12 years Nancy and Bill were Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus at various churches, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, pre-schools, Carthage library and for special needs children of all ages.  The always reminded the children that Christmas gifts represent the greatest gift ever received, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Nancy was a 50+ year member of the Carthage Chapter #154 of the Eastern Star.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Fair Promise United Methodist Church, 192 Glendon Carthage Road, Glendon, NC.  The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service and at other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Fair Promise United Methodist Church, 567 River Road, Robbins, NC  27325 or FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC  28387.

  3. I am so sorry to hear about Nancy’s death. It is so hard to lose a loved one to death. It is these tragic times that make us look even more forward to when God will bring our loved ones back to life who have fallen asleep in death (Acts 24:15)

  5. I just learned of Nancy’s passing. I pray for the rest of her family. It is svgreat loss for loved ones. However, I have no doubt Aunt Mackie was there to welcome her with open arms.
