Neil Douglas, Jr., age 76 of Carthage passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at his home.

 

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Eureka Presbyterian Church conducted by Pastor Julie Hughes. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

 

A native of Yadkinville, NC he was a son of the late Neil and Hallie Purdue Douglas. Neil was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He worked for 42 years at Luther’s Recapping in Carthage where he mostly services and inspected vehicles. Neil was a kind and gentle person who loved his family and friends.

 

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Ann Horne Douglas; son Robert Douglas and wife Crystal of West End; sisters Nora Phillips of Carthage, Mary Bullins of Lakeview and Barbara Oldham of Sanford; grandson Ryder “Little Buddy” Douglas; step-granddaughter Cassey Masterson and husband David; step-great-grandchildren Kylie and Luke.
