Nellie Kate Burns 87, formerly of Robbins died Saturday August 20, 2011 at Peak-Resources-Pinelake in Carthage.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at First Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Sam Swinney and the Rev. Wilson Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Rest cemetery.
She was a native of Chatham County and she retired from Carolina Lace in Robbins. Nellie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Kate White Poe, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Burns and 11 of her 12 siblings.
Surviving are her daughter; Cindy Sullivan and husband Cicero of Mooresville, and her son Randall Burns and wife Katrina of Carthage; a sister Jean Harris of Asheboro; grandchildren, Michael Riddle,Billy Riddle, Nicholas Burns, Daniel Burns and Samantha Burns, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins.
