Norris O. Garner, 75, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the home of his daughter, surrounded by his family.  

Graveside Service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Jerome Smith officiating.    

Norris was a native of Moore County.  He was a graduate of the North Moore High School, Class of 1967.   Norris enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a NASCAR fan and a Chevrolet supporter.  He always liked to have pet dogs of all kinds around the house. Norris worked in construction for both Myrick Construction and DR Reynolds. Norris was a faithful member of the Adult Sunday school class at Smyrna until his health started to fail. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charlie and Edna Marley Garner; wife of 47 years: Thelma Ritter Garner. 

Norris is survived by daughter: Brooke Myrick and husband David of Robbins; son: Mark Garner and wife Candace, of Robbins; grandchildren: Dylan Moore, Shayla Ritter and husband Tyler, Blake Garner, Austin and Luke Myrick; many nieces, nephews and friends. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, December, 27, 2022 at Kennedy Funeral Home and following the service in the Smyrna Family Life Center.

Memorials  may be made to FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC or Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P O Box 1661, Robbins, NC 27325 .
