Norris Shields Hannon, age 89 of West End died Wednesday (March 7, 2012) at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Bethlehem Baptist Church conducted by Rev. James Cagle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors and Masonic rites.
He moved to Moore County in the 1990's where his family was originally from. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII and a member of the A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge #181 Carthage, NC. His wife Mae Bergendal Hannon preceded him in death in 2008 and one son Paul Hannon.
He is survived by: a son Norris Allan Hannon of the home; daughter Darlene Peterson of Washington; grandchildren Kathleen Moore, Matthew and Stephen Hannon; great grandchildren; Adrian Hannon, Orion Morrison, Madeleine Moore and Liliana Moore.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday.

When I first met Norris and Mae at an Eastern Star Meeting, they welcomed me. Norris introduced me to his wife, Mae. He said this is Mae, my best girl. She just smiled so sweetly. I will always remember their kindness. Both Norris and Mae were very sweet.
