Oleen Seawell Ritter, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep at The Coventry of St. Joseph of Pines on July 15, 2024.

Oleen was born on August 21, 1933 to the late Ollie Elmer Seawell Sr, and Mittie Greene Seawell of High Falls. She graduated from High Falls School and attended Women’s College. She married Wiley F. Ritter Jr. and raised three children on their farm on Ritter Rd in the High Falls community.

Oleen founded and led the Pleasant Hill 4-H Club for 30 years and was active in the Extension Homemakers and her church. She was a talented seamstress and an avid gardener. Oleen enjoyed hosting gatherings of family and friends in their home. Her grandchildren remember her best for her homemade biscuits! Oleen and W.F. spent their retirement years on the road in their RV, visiting every U.S. state and the Canadian provinces.

Oleen was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ollie Elmer Seawell Jr. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, W.F. Ritter, Jr. Sisters, Catherine Barber (Ken), of Cary, Doris Cockman, Sister-In-Law Virginia Seawell of Carthage. Son, Michael Ritter (Jane) of West End. Daughters, Sandra Bass (Terry) and Linda Bryan (Charles) both of Fuquay-Varina, NC. Grandchildren Evan Ritter (Amanda) of Richmond, VA, Sarah Futrell (Nate) of Wilmington, Kayla Bass, Aaron Bass (Breylnn) of Fuquay-Varina, Jenna Oleen Bass of Cary, Chloe Bryan (Phil) of Whidbey Island, WA, Luke Bryan (Olivia) of Dunn and Vivian Bryan of Fuquay-Varina. Six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30pm Saturday July 20 at Highfalls UMC, 324 Frieson Rd, High Falls followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Highfalls UMC, PO Box 12, High Falls, NC 27259.

I will always be thankful for that wonderful cruise to the Bahamas in 1972 that you took us on with the Moore County 4-H travel club. May God richly bless you in eternity.
