Patton Brewster

patton brewster

June 1, 1966 ~ July 8, 2026

Patton Jackson Brewster, Jr, “Junebug”, 60, of Robbins, North Carolina passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026 in his home with his loving family.

Patton was born in Welch, West Virginia to Patton and Margaret Brewster on June 1, 1966. He was a graduate of Union Pines High School and also attended Sandhills Community College to receive his turf grass certification. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time on the greens for work or play. He was proud to have worked in golf course maintenance at Seven Lakes Country Club, Tot Hill Farms, Pinewild, and other courses. He spent many years as a caddie at Pinehurst, Calussa Pines (Naples, FL), Pine Valley (Pine Hill, NJ), and other courses in The Hamptons, NY, and Homestead, VA. Patton was a lover of all animals, but especially his cat, Winston Purrchill. His other furry companions included Cali Cat and his granddog, Leia.

Patton loved to travel, both for work and with his family. He was a fan of theme parks, the beach, and going home to the mountains of West Virginia. Some of his best adventures were taken with his father-in-law, Buddy Bruce. He was a member of Smyrna Church and enjoyed many trips with his church family as well as sharing stories with them. He was a very lucky person — ranging from concert tickets on the radio, the lottery, and even beating breast cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 35 years (August 31), Donna; his daughter, Morgan; his sisters, Dorris Drossart and Ruthie Baxley (James); and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elmer Brewster, Lawrence Brewster, and Leroy VanPelt; sisters, Delphia McKinnish, Geraldine Sloan, Linda Charles, and Sandra VanPelt.

A celebration of life will be held at the Smyrna Church Family Life Center in Robbins, NC on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at 3:00 PM. The family will fellowship with friends after the celebration.   Casual dress is acceptable for the service.

In lieu of flowers, the families request that donations be sent to The True Church of God in Jesus Name, Care of Pastor Ralph Brewster, PO Box 524, War, WV, 24892. These funds will go to support families in need in southern West Virginia, where Patton grew up.

His family would like to extend a special thanks to the transplant team at Duke University Hospital, especially the superior nurses and staff of 7700, the Smyrna Men, and special friends, Ricky and Robin Clark.

Kennedy Funeral Home is serving the Brewster family.
