Paul Leon Carothers, Jr.

Paul Leon Carothers, Jr., 73, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Born on September 18, 1952, in Franklin, Indiana, Paul was the son of the late Paul Leon Carothers, Sr. and Helen Marie McClung. Throughout his life, Paul worked as a carpenter in the construction industry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Carolyn Carothers, and his brother, Gale Carothers.

Paul is survived by his sister, CJ Dowling of Bradford, Florida; his daughter, Charlotte McClung and her husband, Curtis Epperson of Jackson Springs; and his sons, John Carothers of Hortence, Georgia and Lee Brown of Live Oak, Florida. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage on Monday,  July 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with Gary Talbert officiating.
