Pauline Taylor Fields, age 87 of Carthage died Friday (January 13, 2017) at Peak Resource Pinelake.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Community Friends Church conducted by the Rev. Kenneth McNeill, Rev. Robert Kidd and Pastor John Stinnett. Burial will follow in Cool Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Glendon.
A native of Surry County she was a daughter of the late Jobe C. Taylor and Blanche Hawks Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter I. Fields; brothers Jobe C. Taylor, Jr., Ray Taylor and James Taylor.
Pauline was the founder and owner of Mama’s Kitchen in Vass for over 30 years and was known by many as Mama or Nanny. She always enjoyed cooking for friends and family and had a deep love for all those she knew.
She is survived by: daughters Dale F. Marsh, Dawn F. Cheek, Marie Stinnett and husband John; sons Walter I. Fields, Jr. and wife Cathy, Jimmy Fields and wife Sharon Rose, Hank Fields, Ronald A. Fields and wife Renee; brothers Arles Taylor and wife Bradie, Billy Taylor and wife Annette all of Carthage; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Lorraine Williams of Robbins, Imogene Fields of Stokesdale, Dorothy Taylor, Robbie Taylor, Louvene Fields, Dora Ann Maness all of Carthage.
The family will receive friends at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday and other times at the home.

Miss Pauline was a wonderful lady and I have many fond memories of her as I served Cool Springs U/M.C. several years ago. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family as the mourn the loss of a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and an amazing woman.
