Peggy Blanchard Ferris, a resident of Moore County for over 60 years, died Monday, January 12, 2015, at the age of 96.

 

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home in Carthage, with a service following at 3:30 PM in the funeral home chapel.

 

A native of Wake County, Peggy was a daughter of the late Carlie and Oma Gilchrist Blanchard. She was a

loving wife, mother and grandmother and a loyal friend who expressed a giving spirit to all who knew her.  She worked for many years in retail sales and volunteered countless hours to causes dear to her heart.  Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ferris, daughter Ina Faye McLean, six siblings, and one grandson.

 

Peggy is survived by sons Kelly “Jerry” McLean, of Pembroke Pines, Fl., and Michael McLean and wife, Anne, of Sunset Beach, NC; daughters Libby Jackson, of Dahlonega, GA, and Peggy Ruth Edmond and husband, Robert, of Valley Bend, WV; step-daughter Pat Brunault, of South Hadley, MA; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sandhills Children’s Center, 1280 Central Drive, Southern Pines, NC, 28387.
