Penelope Foxx Dowd
November 29, 1961 ~ August 10, 2021
Penelope (Penny) Dowd was born on November 29, 1961 to the late Roy and Dorothy Mae Foxx. God saw the mountain was getting too difficult to climb and decided to call her home on Tuesday August 10, 2021.
Penelope, affectionately called Penny by her family and friends, grew up in the High Falls community. She received her education in Moore County, graduating from North Moore High School in 1981.
Penelope was a member of New Bensalem Church. She worked for many years at Ithaca Industries.
Penelope was known throughout the community for her unselfish giving and being kind hearted. Her smile would light up a room.
Penelope loved taking care of her grandchildren, loved cooking for her family and working in her yard.
Penny will be loving remembered by her children: Brandon Dowd (Cheanna), of Aberdeen, NC, Tracy Dowd, of West End, NC, Stacy Dowd, of Robbins, NC; grandchildren: Amiya, Chase, Casen, Carter, Graysen-the absolute love of her life; sisters: Phyllis Redman (Rodney), of High Falls, NC, Pamela Brown (James), of Cameron, NC, Jeanne Faulk, of Carthage, NC; brothers: Harold Foxx (Mary), of Uniondale, NY, Paul Foxx (Elizabeth), of High Falls, NC, Patrick Foxx, of High Falls, NC, Bill Foxx, of High Falls, NC, Ret. Col. Ronnie Foxx (Daisy), of Fayetteville, NC, Walter Foxx (Cathy), of Robbins, NC, Anthony Foxx (Andrea), of Sanford, NC, Ret. Col. Christopher Foxx (Tammy), of Greensboro, NC; sisters in law: Myrtle Foxx, Mary Foxx; special aunt: Essie Brooks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents: Roy and Dorothy Mae Davis Foxx; brothers: Roy Fox, Jr. (Dickey), Larry Foxx (Goat), Clayton Foxx (Handy), Jerry Foxx (Jabe), Otto Foxx, Charles Foxx (Charlie).
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 14, 2021 at New Bensalem Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM at the church and at other times at her home.
