Phillip Isaac Kennedy, 73, of Robbins, passed on September 6, 2022, at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.  

Phil worked in the textile industry for many years, he was also co-owner of Robbins Used Parts/Beck’s Junkyard. Phil loved spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed growing tomatoes, panning for gold, fixing up old cars, catfishing, deep seas fishing and helping others.  Phil also enjoyed drag racing and participating in Demolition Derby’s. His children remember him as a hard worker and will cherish the blessing of knowing they could always depend on their Daddy.  Phil was born August 31, 1949, to the late Fred Eugene and Sallie Jane Kennedy.  He was preceded in death by wife, Rosemary; siblings: Fred Jr Kennedy, Elgin Kennedy, Lester Kennedy, Carl Kennedy, Hazel Kennedy, Faye Hackney-Lance, and Hannah Miller. 

Phil is survived by wife Phyllis Beck; daughters: Heidi Ann Baxter (Randy), Penny Lynn Kennedy, and Mindy Jo Kennedy Rouse (Jimmy); sister: Mary Lifford; grandchildren: Cindy Jordan, Tristian Rouse, Caleb Rouse, Casey Marks (Collin), Philip Baxter, Cara Rouse, and Allee Jo Kennedy; great-grandchildren: Matthew Hussey, Carley Hussey, Graylan Snodgrass, and Ellie Rouse.  

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Waddell’s Memorial Chapel (7932 Howard Mill Rd, Bennett, NC 27208), with Dr. Kenneth McNeill officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made for final expenses to Kennedy Funeral Home, P.O. Box 307 Carthage, NC 28327.

    Even though I had only known Phil for a couple of years, he shared so much of his wisdom in our conversations, and I will always be grateful to have known him.
