Phillip Ray Smith, age 41, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 29th.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Sunday at Red Branch Baptist Church burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery.
A native of Moore County , he graduated from Big Oak Christian Academy and from the Landscape Gardening Program at Sandhill's Community College. He worked for Pinehurst Resorts as an electrician for 23 years and was the founder and pastor of Believers Christian Fellowship Church in Carthage Phillip was a loving husband, father, son and brother, pastor, teacher and friend. He raised his children up in church and taught them to love the Lord Jesus Christ. His family was blessed to have him for this short time.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Marsh Smith; two sons, Nolan Smith and Parker Smith of the home; his mother, Marcia Hardy Presley of Carthage; his father, Johnny A Smith & wife, Linda of Carthage; maternal grandmother, Hilda Robinson & husband, Homer; a sister, Rebecca S. Brown of Carthage and two brothers, Rodney Smith of Cameron and Brent Smith of Carthage.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Saturday at Red Branch Baptist Church, 1748 Old River Road, Carthage, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Believers Christian Fellowship Church. PO Box 123, Carthage, NC 28327 to continue Pastor Phillip's vision.
