Porter G. Hardy
January 15, 1925 ~ June 26, 2014
Porter Gray Hardy, age 89 of Carthage died Thursday at his home.
A graveside service will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Summer Hill Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Arnold Comer and Rev. Edwin Moore.
A native of Surry County he was the last surviving child of of the late Dallas and Lillie Brown Hardy. He retired from the NC Department of Transportation where he operated a motor grader for 38 years.
He was preceded in death by: his former wife Ruby McIntosh Hardy; sons Gerald Gray Hardy, Gary Lynn Hardy and an infant son Kenneth Lee Hardy.
He is survived by: his daughter Annette H. Taylor and husband Billy of Carthage; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of Annette and Billy Taylor.
Fry and Prickett Funeral Home is assisting the Hardy family.
