rachael loken

Rachael Desiree Loken, 41, passed away at her home on January 3, 2025. Born in Charleston, SC, on November 6, 1983, Rachael was a daughter of the late Brett and Michelle Mullen. The Mullen Family traveled to many different states before finally settling in Wisconsin to build the Mullen Family Farm. Rachael enlisted in the United States Army on February 1, 2007.

Rachael proudly served in the Army as a Paralegal for eighteen years earning the rank of Master Sergeant. She served in Heidelberg, Germany; Fort Hood, Killeen, TX; Fort Benning, Columbus, GA; and finally at Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, NC. During her service she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management, cum laude. Rachael’s fondness for the natural world was unmatched. Her free time was spent hiking, gardening, and soaking in the sunshine. Her passion for wellness shaped her active lifestyle, mindful eating, and self-care rituals. Rachael had a fearless spirit and travelled extensively with friends and family to discover the world around her. Rachael’s contagious joy and enthusiasm for life inspired all who knew her, encouraging them to live a life of adventure and happiness. Her greatest joy in life, more than anything in the world, was being the mother of her son – Wyatt Alexander.

Rachael is survived by her husband of eleven years, Chris Loken; son, Nate Loken; sister, Samantha Skeens; niece, Sophia Skeens; and many more loving family and friends.

She was greeted in Heaven by her son, Wyatt Alexander Loken; parents, Brett and Michelle Mullen; grandparents, Joe Mullen, Carrie Mullen-Gorka, and Robert and Mary Hamlett.

  1. Sorry to hear this very bad news. SPC Mullen served her country proudly and professionally. She set the standards in the Legal Department while at 504th BfSB. She was the only one willing to do PT regularly in that whole office. Great Soldier. Sorry to all y’all.

  2. My niece Rachael was a wonderful person , she was so much like her mother (in her younger years). Rachael, was a fearless spitfire who did some amazing things in her time here. She will be missed.

  3. Rachel was a strong woman in every thing she did I was proud to call her my Granddaughter say Hi to your Grandpa for RIP

  4. Rachael profoundly impacted my life and I am so grateful that our paths crossed in this lifetime. Her kind and generous soul will be deeply missed.

    • Even though I didn’t work alongside Rachael for long, she left a profound impact on me. She was generous and kind and had a fantastic sense of humor. Rachael is missed already

  5. I was Rachael’s English teacher in high school in Wisconsin & will not forget this bright feisty girl’s intelligence & creativity. She was an exceptional writer & personality. I loved visiting her family farm for chickens & veggies where Rachael was the vendor. Deeply sorrowful that she has been taken so soon.

  6. Rachael was my first NCOIC, then-SSG Loken. We served together at the 108th ADA Brigade at Fort Bragg (now Liberty). If I ever looked like I had my act together and knew what I was doing, it was was because of her. She set the example for what a paralegal NCO and battle buddy could do, and she set the bar high. Her loss is sad beyond measure. I am so grateful I knew her and am glad to know she and Wyatt are reunited now. May God be with her, Chris, and the family and many friends who mourn her.

  7. Hey Battle, my eyes are not dry as I type this message. I can’t wrap my head around your departure… you’ll always be remembered as a vibrant, caring and selfless person. I’m thankful I got to work at 108th ADA BDE, it was a great honor ! May you protect and guide those who need you most…
