Rebecca “Becky” Preddy, 59, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 at her home peacefully after battling cancer for 18 months.

Becky was a native of Buncombe County, North Carolina.  She received her Associates Degree in Business from Sandhills Community College. She worked for FirstBank as a Teller before transitioning to being a homemaker and Farmer and even a middle school bus driver for a few years. Becky was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She enjoyed caring for her family and her home. Time spent with family, especially the grandchildren, was most important to her. She also enjoyed trips, both to the beach and to visit her family in the mountains near Asheville. She loved sending thoughtful cards to friends and neighbors in the community in need to lift their spirits. Becky was a daughter of the late John Anderson.

Becky is survived by husband of 34 years, Bobby; children: Phillip King and wife Millicent, Stephanie Schlegel and husband Greg, Janice P. Sanford and husband Danny, Susanne Allen and husband Keary; mother: Louise Riddle Anderson; grandchildren: Erin Adams, Halie Driscoll and husband Patrick, Shelby Allen, Parker King, Casey Allen, Addison Schlegel; brothers: Doug Anderson, Jeff Anderson (her twin); sister: Robbin Anderson; and her beloved dog Roscoe.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, with Reverend Mamie Alley officiating along with Becky’s Uncle, Pastor Randy Riddle.  A gathering will follow in the church fellowship hall. The family will receive friends at their home.

  1. Becky was the most thoughtful and caring person I know. She was always taking care of others before herself. She was a special lady and heaven has gained a nurturing angel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
