Renate Marianne Kastner

On Sunday, June 30, 2019, Renate Kastner passed away at the age of 95.
Renate was born on October 18, 1923 in Leipzig, Germany to Dr. Rudolf and Mrs. Marianne (Seeliger) Maul. On
August 27, 1955, she married Brigadier General Alfred Kastner and had three stepchildren,
George, Mary Louise, and Kerry and two children, Annette and Stephanie.
Renate enjoyed homemaking, playing bridge, visiting the beach and gardening. She had a deep
reverence for nature and relished spending time outdoors. Renate was devoted to her family
and was much loved by her close family members and extended relations. She was known for
her hard work, determination, and kind and generous spirit.
Renate is survived by her children, Annette and Stephanie, her stepsons, George and Kerry,
her grandchildren, Enrico Vigliotti, and Frederick, Miklos, and Sarah Billings and two great
grandchildren, Bernard and Thomas Billings.
A funeral service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
She was a wonderful friend.

May she rest in peace, she lived a full and at times difficult life, she had amazing strength to cope.-Â I knew Renny from fitness classes for many years, she would often describe her early life post-war in Germany and how she met her husband.-Â At Christ
I am saddened by the loss of my friend Mrs. Kastner.-Â I always enjoyed going to see her ,sometimes I would get to bring my daughters along to visit with her while I was working around the house. I surely will miss her.
