Reva Price Summers

Reva Price Summers, of Southern Pines NC, died Monday January 11, 2015 at FirstHealth Hospice in Pinehurst, NC.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Born January 23, 1937 in Charleston, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Troy and Tina Price and spent her formative years in Kingsport, Tennessee. Military wife, mother, homemaker, healthcare and childcare professional, Reva enjoyed art, music, dance, poetry, travel and gardening. An accomplished square dancer she traveled, with her husband, to many locations overseas, sharing this recreation and building friendships that lasted her lifetime. A supporter of many charitable organizations, she had a special affinity for children, especially those homeless and lacking basic care and support.
Predeceased by her husband Jack D. Summers, two brothers Terry Price, Troy Ross Price, five sisters, Estell Collins, Eula Atkins, Gladys Hurley, Greta Broome and Margaret Horton.
She is survived by her daughter Valerie Summers Powers and husband Philip of Bennett, NC, son Nathan Summers and wife Kathy of Aberdeen, NC., two sisters Lorene Minor and husband Gene of Schertz Tx., Lloyd Price of Kingsport TN., and Dennis Price of Kingsport TN. Grandchildren, Rachel Powers Henley and husband David of Winston Salem, NC, Ashley Powers Loehr and husband Josh of Aberdeen, NC, and Derek Wise USAF, Goldsboro NC. , three great grandchildren Reagan, Anna and Brent Henley.
