Richard D. Nunnery, 67, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the FirstHealth Hospice House.
A native of Moore County, and son of the late Daniel and Elsie Nall Nunnery.
Richard graduated from Union Pines High School and worked in road construction for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren riding his tractor and traveling to gun stores.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Roger Nunnery.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cricket Pope; children: Robbie Cook, Christina Nunnery, Daniel Nunnery, and John (Sarah) Nunnery; sister Ruth Frye and three brothers: Johnny, Henry, and Chuck (Leta); his grandchildren: Ethan, Morrissa, Dallas, Samantha, Ashlyn, Jordan, McKennah, Lydia, Maeley, and Emmalynn; great-grandchild Elijah.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Red Branch Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Mitchell. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m.
