Richard L. Comer

Richard L. Comer, age 86 of Cameron died Wednesday (March 16, 2016) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Rocky Fork Christian Church with Pastor Vanya Mullinax officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

A native of Moore County he was the last surviving child of the late Raymond and Wilma Williams Comer. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean war and was retired from Carthage Farm Supply where he worked for many years.

 

Richard was a friend to many and will be remembered for his kindness towards others and his warm smile.

 

He was preceded in death by: his wife Rachael Holder Comer; sisters Doris Bernado and Margaret Thomas; brothers Russell Comer, Charles Comer and Roger Comer.

 

He is survived by: his daughter Rhonda Sue Holland of Madison; sons Richard L. Comer, Jr. of Denver, CO and Randy V. Comer of Cameron; grandchildren Richard A. Comer, Courtney Hartwell, Beth Bullard and David Holland; one great grandson Austin Hartwell.

 

The family will receive friends at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home from 6:00 -- 8:00 PM Friday and other times at the home.
