Robert C. Whitaker, age 65, died Wednesday at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Red Branch Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Chuck Plowman.
A native of Moore County he was the son of the late William 'Eck' Whitaker and Sue Porter Whitaker. He was a graduate of Union Pines High School and a US Army veteran. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for many years.
Survivors include: daughters, Kim Whitaker of Southern Pines, Pam Whitaker of Phoenix, AZ; son Brian Whitaker of Carthage; a sister Linda Reynolds and husband Richard of Carthage; brother Tommy Whitaker & wife, Beth of Carthage.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Robert Whitaker.

The service was so nice at the graveside. I couldn’t help but remember all our hard work growing up and all that hard play to go with it. It was so much fun when we all got together too. We would have tables and tables of food, lots of laughter and fun, a
