Robert C. Whitaker, age 65, died Wednesday at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Red Branch Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Chuck Plowman.
A native of Moore County he was the son of the late William 'Eck' Whitaker and Sue Porter Whitaker. He was a graduate of Union Pines High School and a US Army veteran. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for many years.
Survivors include: daughters, Kim Whitaker of Southern Pines, Pam Whitaker of Phoenix, AZ; son Brian Whitaker of Carthage; a sister Linda Reynolds and husband Richard of Carthage; brother Tommy Whitaker & wife, Beth of Carthage.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Robert Whitaker.
