Robert F. McLeod, 81, died Friday March 11, 2011 at his home.
Services will be announced at a later date.
Born January 2, 1930 in Cumberland County he was a son of the late Robert Guy and Dr. Vida Canady McLeod.
Mr. Mcleod was an accountant for Exxon Petroleum Company.
He is survived by his wife Jean Messervy McLeod of Southern Pines, two daughters, Anne Bleggi of Southern Pines and Sue Christensen of Salt Lake City, UT, one son, Robert G. McLeod of Kennewick, WA, one brother, Dr. Alexander C. McLeod of Nashville, TN.
Robert was a gentle man in the proud Southern sense. He was always kind and respectful. Never once did not greet me with a smile and at least a kind nod. Thank God in Heaven for him being a part of my life in Moore County.

To Jean and children, please accept my most sincere condolences. You will recall that Robert was my manager when we worked together in Alaska on the largest project of them all. He distinguished himself in my my entire life as a gentleman of integrity, employee support and direction, mentoring empowerment, and cordial friendship. He encouraged me during challenging circumstances. I regret our loss of such an outstanding man of God in our midst. May he enjoy perpetual light and peace with our Lord Jesus Christ.
