Robert Hartsell Hendrick, age 85, died Tuesday at his residence.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday at Cameron Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Greene, Dr. Joe R. Babb and Rev. Ray Whitby, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Cameron Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service
A native of Moore County, he was the son of the late Wallace Hartsell Hendrick and Lula Elizabeth Doss Hendrick. He was an active lifetime member of Cameron Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army. He was a tobacco farmer and worked many years with the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service and was a director with Moore County Farm Bureau. Mr. Hendrick was preceded in death by a son Marty Hartsell Hendrick and sisters Irene, Doris, Clara Jo and Marie.
Mr. Hendrick is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lula Mae Denny Hendrick; two daughters, Dr. Pamela Jessup & husband, James of Sanford and Lisa Dunlap & husband, James of Westmoore; a son, Denny Hendrick & wife, Julie of Seven Lakes; a sister, Valeria Maples & husband, Phil of Spring Lake; a brother, Lonnie Hendrick & wife, Ruby of Cameron; nine grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
