Robert Melvin Duguay Sr.

Robert Melvin Duguay, Sr. 89, of Carthage, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, FirstHealth Hospice House, Pinehurst, NC.  

Graveside Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Bryan Maness officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the home of Gloria and Ricky Flinchum

Robert was a native of Maine.  He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps.   He was a truck driver for Standard Trucking and Purvis Farms.  He loved his family and enjoyed any time spent with them.  Robert also enjoyed playing golf, fishing, watching football, and boxing on TV. He was the son of the late Desire and Evelyn Strout Duguay and was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Gertrude; son: Robert “Tony” Duguay; siblings: Desire (Junior) Duguay, Pearley Duguay, Theresa (Lorraine) Merchant, Hilda Rouleau, Thurl Duguay, Lewis (Louie) Duguay, Ray Duguay.

Robert is survived by daughters: Dorothy Cummings and husband Johnny of Vass, Gloria Flinchum and husband Ricky of Carthage, Teresa Joseph and husband Johnny of Johnsonville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother: Kenneth (Kenny) Duguay; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
