Robert O. Black, Sr., age 61 of 2732 Highway 24/27 died Tuesday (September 4, 2007) in Statesville.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be 2:00 PM Friday at Lamms Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Elder Calvin Harward.
Born in Roanoke, VA he was a son of the late Robert and Annie Tanner Black. He was a US Army Veteran of both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. After 11 years of service to his country he came home a spent the rest of his life as a long distance truck driver.
He is survived by: his wife LaRue Jones Black; daughters Adriana Black and Casey Black both of the home; son Bobby Black and wife Ginny of Cameron; brother John D. Black of FL; step-grandchildren Stephanie Dziok, Brandon Parnell and Ryan "Rudy" Allgood; step-great-grandchild Taylor.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 —8:00 PM and other times at the residence.
