Roby Ellis Williams, 86 of 136 Sunset Dr. died Monday, March 2, 2009 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Pleasant View Friends Church, where he attended, with the Rev. Don Luellen and the Rev. Clarence Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Rest Cemetery in Robbins.
He was a native of Moore County He was a retired employee of Springs Mill; he attended Pleasant View Friends Church. He was a veteran of WWII where he served in Europe. He was wounded in a German conflict, where he received a purple heart. He also received the Bronze Star and received five campaign stars. He was preceded in death by his parents: Lucas and Blanche Williams. Brothers, Earl Williams, Wilbert Williams, Hubert Williams, Madison Williams. Sisters: Irene Hussey and Louvene Brown.
Surviving are: Wife Pattie Williams of the home, Daughter Connie Hamilton and husband Ronnie of Asheboro, Brothers, Sherman Williams, Gurney Williams, Worthy Williams and Elwood Williams all of Eagle Springs. Sisters, Peggy Oakley of Greensboro, Arlene Brewer of Eagle Springs.
Grandchildren: Derrick and wife Janie of Archdale, Dennis and wife Patti of North Syracuse N.Y., Kevin and wife Ashley of Asheboro, Barry and wife Donna of Asheboro.
Great Grandchildren: Garrett,Katie,Joshua,Jessica,Grayson,Emily,Casey and Edward.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday March 4,2009 at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins and at all other times at the home.
