Rosa Lee Douglas of Carthage died peacefully on Wednesday, September 12 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. She was 88 years old.

Mrs. Douglas was born Rosa Lee Wallace on October 19, 1918 in Carthage, NC at the 100 year-old home where she lived throughout her life. Her parents were Coy Carlton Wallace, Sr. and Cornie Seawell Wallace. She was a homemaker, a devoted mother, a care-giver to her parents, and a loving friend to everyone. She had a strong faith and life-long commitment to her Lord and Savior. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Carthage.

Mrs. Douglas was predeceased by her parents as well as her sister, Ruth W. Stewart; sister, Mary W. Wright; brother, Henry C. Wallace; and brother, Coy C. Wallace, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lee Douglas of the home and her fiance, Coy A. Gladden, Jr. of Carthage. She is also survived by a niece, Judy Young of Modesto, CA; a nephew, David M. Wallace and wife Nancy of Greensboro; a nephew, Stephen C. Wallace and wife Dawn of Wilmington; a nephew, C. C. Wallace III and wife Joyce of Los Angeles, CA; an extended family including several great nieces and nephews.
A grave-side service will be held for Mrs. Douglas on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage. The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 1:00 —1:45 p.m. at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home, 402 Saunders St., Carthage.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the organization of their choice.
