Ruby Reeves Barber 87, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 13, 2015.
Funeral Service will be 4:00 PM, Friday, October 16, 2015 at Summerhill Baptist Church, with the Reverend Arnold Comer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 3 :00 PM and at other times at the home of her daughter, Pam Kennedy.
Ruby was a native of Surry County and a homemaker. She was a loving wife and mother, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers. Ruby loved getting “Pretty Gifts” from her family. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lester Barber and granddaughter Shellie Saunders.
Ruby is survived by daughters: Pam Kennedy and husband Jimmy, of Robbins; Sadie Hamilton, of Randleman, Mona Teague and husband Timbo, of Robbins; 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kennedy Funeral Home, P O Box 307, Carthage, NC 28327 for final expenses.
