Ruby Mae Barber, age 89 died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

 

Graveside  services will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 8, 2014 at Summer Hill  Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. William J. Maness.  

 

A native of Moore County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Lillie Williams McKenzie. Ruby was a homemaker and she enjoyed traveling, gardening and reading. She worked for many years at the Pinehurst Hotel.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Roswell Barber and son, Jackie Barber.

 

Ruby is survived by daughters: Ruby Lee Sineath and husband Jimmy, of Carthage, Nancy Cagle, of Sanford, Patricia Yow, of Pinehurst, Brenda Lewis and husband Mickey, of Carthage, Linda Nichols and husband Roger, of Carthage, sons: Johnny Barber and wife Judy, of Wilmington, Steve Barber, of Carthage, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren..
